clap for me!

my favorite part is the clap at the end. she is so proud of herself!

on the move. and loving it.

life is grand when you can get from point a
to point b all on your own.

family fun.

for the last week i have been prepping and then enjoying my fam as they traveled to atlanta.
my dad, sisters, brother, brother-in-law and nephew all came and we really did have such a great time. family dynamics change, but the love is always there.

the new addition to the family...

did i make anyone think this was a "i am pregnant!" post?
well, it is not.
as mentioned in this post, i re-did an ottoman this weekend and i am more than proud. i am no young house love, but, have a love for interior design and diy (aka i love a good bargain). so, lillian and i drove out to the ballard design outlet here in atlanta (thanks sue for the tip!) and happened across this ottoman.

originally $289.99 it was marked down to $79.99 and the store was having an additional 30% off sale on all upholstered pieces. so, deciding this was too good a deal to pass up, i decided to purchase without measuring (with a no refund policy. i am such a risk taker, i know).
i knew the color was all wrong but thought because it was perfectly square and the legs just screwed off that i could do the re-upholstery myself. so, i flag the ottoman sold and we walked over to the fabrics.
to my delight (and lilly's, she just doesn't know it yet) they were having an additional 50% off fabrics and i happened across a beautiful almost ikat pattern in a cream and taupe color. $7.99 half off for 2 yards? sold.

so, off we went back home to nap (lillian) and recover (me). and the best part? we were only $60 poorer.

so, after attending to my little nugget and watching her successful and adorably snuggle up to her giraffe and pass out, i created this....

obviously, the dogs were in love, look at the grin on georgia's face!

here it is styled in our room...

i am in love! it finishes the room perfectly and is much better for a growing babe learning to walk and bump into everything. (we had an old trunk there before that wasn't as suitable).
hank's response? he loves to put his feet up on it.
lillian's response? zzzz.

happy mama :)

so refreshed.

this weekend with hank and lilly was so refreshing. hank has been traveling a lot and i am so proud of him and his new job. he is kicking some serious ass but that doesn't mean we don't miss him terribly when he is gone.
i am also one of those girls who needs attention and validation and acknowledgment. as independent as i like to think of myself, i really do rely on others to help me find my true self. and bottom line, i didn't get married to be alone, i got married to enjoy the consistent companionship of my best friend, who i love and respect dearly. and who, lets face it, makes me feel like a sex bomb. he loves me, thinks i am amazing and reminds me of it daily. so, with that gone, things go a little south for me.

but i digress and reflect, which is not my style.
this weekend was exactly what a needed. we lounged, snuggled the heck out of lilly, lit a fire in our living room (even though it was 70 out!), watched a movie at 9am while lilly napped, met with new friends (yeah! friends!) and lounged in parks while the wind swirled around us in a fall-like fashion. amazing.

oh, and i made the most amazing ottoman...which i will detail in my next post. my little nugget is waking up!

on the move!

i have yet to catch it on video, but the big news of the week is that lillian in on the move! she is loving every minute of crawling, has yet to really fly from one end of the room to the other, but she is flopping and rolling and having a blast.
makes me so happy! and lillian too :)

i am also riding high off my trip to nashville. it is the most magical place for me. my heart was bursting with love for the people who inhabit that amazing city.  sarah, thank you for having us in your home and being the most amazing friend i could ask for (not to mention an amazing aunt to lilly-bug :)
lillian got to have a playdate with her best bud summer while i got to catch up with my great friend, heather.
sorry it is so blurry, those babies are on the move!
heather & summer, we love you and miss you SO much!

then we went to salutation nation, a nation-wide yoga event lululemon athletica (my old employer) put on. amazing music, people and yoga. this was my first yoga class in a month, and let me just say, i felt like i finally took a breath for the first time in a month. my heart was so full.
lillian hung in her car seat and let me practice for about 45 min. for the rest of the class we strolled around and enjoyed the music.

last but not least, we laughed, played and drank beer with some of the most amazing people on the planet (ok, well my planet). mindy, brooke, michael and caroline- you all gave me more this weekend than you could ever know. thank you for loving me & lillian no matter what. ya'll rock my world.

lillian agrees. let the fun begin :)

under the sea.

we ventured to the aquarium today.
as you can tell, lillian was captivated.
i loved seeing her little head looking every which
way as the animals glided through the water.

also caught on film (aka my iphone)...

my new favorite picture of all time.
no photoshop here! just amazing timing.
if that doesn't make you smile, then, well, we can't be friends.
